I’m sitting now to remember
That warm-cities' summer night
A celebration reason enough
And we drank our fill of the nectar
We were there for her
I was there for her
Such soft ribbon wrapped round golden
I brought her gifts
And prayed she unwrap my package
The curtains close and I drive alone
Dark and flying
Congestion
Should Stop
Carve
Harvest
Lost
I’m sitting now to remember
The calm blue and mauve walls
Just visiting
The rolling chairs, the bandaged
I turned it on
The charm, The lights, The smiles
Just visiting
The nurse
So sweet
So helpful
Her heart
We laughed
We warmed the halls
We fell
Then passion, rising
Retreat to the car in the rain
The passion
I’m sitting now to remember
The words I wrote to cheer
The new gifts I made and gave
The bandaged healed
Then misplaced
The poems were gone
Time skipping, scratching
Startled
The nurse, she’s mine
Trying to explain
Trying to make the poems make sense
Hit the wall
Break the door down
I’m sitting now
Between the calm, cold walls
It was me
They hadn’t locked me up
They handed me over
And I didn’t want
To remember
