The first time I remember you
We were sitting in the sun.
The summer’s grass was under us,
I think we were maybe, one.
I always considered myself
An expert at hide and seek
But it’s because you never told
That I counted while I peeked.
There was the game of Truth or Dare,
Which I always loved to play.
If only I had the courage
I would have kissed you every day.
When times were hard
And things got bad,
You were always there.
That’s why I’m writing this poem,
So you know how much I care.
Cause someday soon a man will come
And sweep you off your feet.
When he does I’ll let him know,
You’re the best friend
A guy could ever meet.
Thank you, Katie.
